Core Plus Aerospace uses curriculum developed by Boeing to prepare students to begin their careers as aerospace manufacturing technicians. Some of the hands-on skills include fiberglass construction and repair and precision aluminum riveting.

About Core Plus Aerospace

Advanced Manufacturing prepares students for immediate employment in the aerospace and manufacturing industries by focusing on job-ready skills based on industry standards. Students fabricate, assemble, and repair structures using basic and advanced composite techniques and materials.

Students will earn the prestigious Core Plus certification which includes skills in blueprint reading, material science, precision measurement, and aluminum riveting in our lab-centric facility using various hand and stationary power tools. As with all NCTA programs, soft skill training is a major focal point in developing highly employable individuals.

Meet the Teacher

Jason Leander

I love working with high school students and I enjoy teaching at a place like NCTA where students want to come and learn real job skills in a hands-on environment. My interest in manufacturing began as a child with Legos, remote-controlled cars, and airplane modeling. Growing up on a farm taught me the work ethic and problem-solving skills that now get passed down to my students. Aerospace Manufacturing gives students the skills to transition from student to professional in a manufacturing environment. Along with technical skills, soft skills training (employability) is fundamental.
